Academic Writing

From term papers to ethical analyses, the following are the academic papers I have written for Gannon courses such as: Thesis, Event Planning,  Drama, Media Ethics, Integrated Marketing Communications and more.

Senior Thesis

As a capstone course for senior year, this is an analytical paper looking at James Grunig's Two-Way Communication model of public relations and relating it to current PR practices in the digital world.

The research gathered in this paper reaches upwards of 70 sources and was accompanies by a presentation focusing on Gregoire Yany's six types of social media complaints.

National Event Critique

This paper analyzes the national event of Aerie's Pop-Up Tours. This critique looks at the audience and scope of the event while analyzing the planning process and marketing efforts.

For this paper I was able to interview Aerie's Brand Manager to get a better understanding of the overall planning process.

Lying in the Media

After learning multiple avenues and tactics purposely and sometimes inadvertently used in media in my media criticism class, I composed this criticism paper on Spotify's stance in the public eye. This paper looks into the multiple artists that, at the time, left Spotify and were spreading bad word of mouth of the streaming service.

Equity Theory

In an Interpersonal Communications class, this paper looks at the equity theory, a theory that proposes relationships are based and maintained through an equal give and take.

This literature review looked at the emotional outcomes involved with this theory

Local Event Critique

This paper analyzed a local event I attended in Erie, Pennsylvania. The WQLN craft show is an Erie holiday tradition. After attending the event and interviewing with it's coordinator I was able to grasp a better understanding of handling vendors and and the importance of a venue. This analysis looks at the planning process of WQLN, their marketing efforts and critiques event specifics as well.

Integrated Marketing Analysis

This paper analyzes the grocery store Piggly Wiggly's marketing efforts and analyzes their efficiency, or rather inefficiency, of their integrated efforts to create a seamless brand name. I discovered quickly that this brand is viewed differently depending on their location, which resulted in different slogans, company colors and logos, proving this organisation does not have an integrated marketing approach.
