Russell the Robin
Russell is an adventurous young robin who loves to play with his friends, and loves to learn. He resides on the 4th tallest branch in the oak tree of Ridely Park. He is the eldest of three Robins, and is very protective of his younger siblings.
He attends the local park school, where he is in his third year. Some of his favorite classes include geography, math and art. He especially loves his physical fitness class, where he can participate in activities like cloud surfing, leaf jumping and branch hopping.
When Russell grows up, he wants to be a teacher. He likes being a helper in class, and tries really hard in his studies. He is a tutor after school, and can often be seen assisting his friends with homework. Russell is a hard worker and he wants to get the best grade he can in his classwork. Sometimes the other animals make fun of him for being so concerned about his schooling. Russell, however, continues to work hard so he can one day achieve his dream of being a teacher.
Russell is very proud of his flying skills, and was named highest flyer in his class. He loves to fly, and often does so with his family. In his spare time, Russell spends a lot of his time with his best friend Freddie, a fish that lives in the parks pond. The two like to spend time together, playing pretend, going to school and hanging out with the other park animals. Russell loves to play tag, hunt for worms and meet new people. He is a very confident bird and often sticks up for his friends.
Russell is a big believer of flying above mean words that people say. However, a lot of his friends cannot fly, so he tries his hardest to help them out.
Russell has many friends around the park. Some of these include Allan the Ant,
Sally the Squirrel, Harry the Hedgehog and Leo the Lizard. These friends trust Russell a lot, and sometimes they have problems with bullies, whether it is because of their size, gender, or some activities they like to do. Russell and his friends sometimes run into bullies, or are bystanders to bullies. When this happens, they remember their three steps to understanding bullying: step 1: I see, step 2: Identify, step 3: I do. Together, he and his friends determine the best actions to take to make each situation better, but when they are unsure, they always ask their Professor Hoot for help.
When Russell is not out problem solving, or playing with his friends, he likes to spend time with his family in his own nest. Russell’s youngest sister, Rylie, cannot fly yet. She has been trying for a really long time but it is difficult for her to master the art. Russell tries to help her out whenever he can. Sometimes their brother makes fun of her, but as a family they try to work out their problems to the best of their ability.
